LANGUAGE BUDDY를 통한 이득

Volunteers: 봉사활동의 장점은 새로운 친구들을 만날 수 있다는 것입니다. 미국에 유학을 와 영어권 친구들을 만날 수 있는 기회가 많이 없었다면 봉사활동을 하며 자연스레 새로운 친구들을 사귈 수 있습니다. 그리고 한국어에 대해서 더 깊이 생각해볼 수 있는 기회를 제공합니다. 예를 들면, 평상시 본인이 구사하는 화법이 적절한지에 대하여 한 번 더 고찰할 수 있는 기회가 됩니다.

Students Learning Korean: 한국어를 배우는 학생들은 원어민과 한국어로 이야기를 나눌 수 있는 기회가 생깁니다. 한국어 교육을 오로지 책으로 접하게 되면, 언어를 읽고 쓰는 방법에 중점을 두게 됩니다. 하지만 새로운 언어를 습득하고자 하는 가장 큰 이유는 의사소통을 하기 위함 일 것입니다. 따라서 Language Buddy라는 프로그램은 학생들의 대화 능력을 향상해줄 수 있는 좋은 기회입니다.

By joining the Language Buddy community, students who are studying Korean has the chance to expose themselves to Korean-fluent students. If students were to only study Korean in a classroom setting, the learning heavily focuses on the reading and writing of the language. Therefore, students miss out on the opportunity to communicate in Korean and Language Buddy program is a good opportunity for the students to enhance Korean-speaking skills.
